There is a high level of expertise on sustainable development throughout the organisation, which forms a key part of our operations. We also cooperate closely with our partners and the authorities. Our activities are governed by strict licensing procedures, and compliance with legislation is a minimum requirement. We always strive to remain one step ahead, this means continually adapting our environmental measures in accordance with the latest technologies and expertise. Our responsible, holistic approach is directly linked to the trust which others place in us, which is fully aligned with our own values.
HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY & ENVIRONMENT (HSSE)
Safeguarding health, safety, security and environmental protection is a priority for us. In our HSSE Policy, we commit to preventing all accidents, injuries and occupational illness, and to protect the environment. We therefore continually optimize all of our subsidiaries’ activities with a view to technical, organizational and behavior-based safety and promote a proactive safety culture. Compliance with the standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO) is laid down in our binding Code of Conduct. Furthermore, we determine here that salaries shall be regulated based solely on qualifications, performance, and other work-related factors such as responsibility, skill, and experience.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Excellence in health and safety is an important value of our company. We aim to prevent all accidents, injuries and occupational illness. We are dedicated to harmonize company-wide internal regulations and be more stringent about establishing the use of the best available techniques. Highest standards in safety management, constantly striving for a zero incident/accident.
SECURITY OF OUR FACILITIES
Each company has implemented adequate counter-measures to secure the security of our facilities in line with the local, individual security risks. The measures comprise fencing, camera surveillance, motion detectors and access-control systems. Our industrial site is placed under a video surveillance and alarm system that warns the command centre of any unauthorized access.
To us, sustainability means transforming our business to facilitate and accelerate the energy transition. It means investing in solutions at our terminals and facilities to reduce our environmental impact . And it also means ensuring our company is built to last – with healthy growth, sound governance, and safe and fair working conditions across our operations.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Our activities impact the environment both directly and indirectly. We therefore want to make every effort to position ourselves as an environmentally friendly company within our business activities – a company that keeps its negative impact on the environment to an absolute minimum, focus on environmental responsibility.
The environment is important for Cwt Commodity Logistics Rotterdam B.V. , therefore Cwt Commodity Logistics Rotterdam B.V. measures her performance regarding the environment, divided in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)-, Carbon Dioxide (CO2)-, Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions, soil- and water pollution. Even though it is not mandatory according to the European Trading Law, Cwt Commodity Logistics Rotterdam B.V. measures all the emissions of the terminals and sets ambitious goals to do better than the minimal requirements.

Sustainability has become a core part of our strategy. Therefore, in order to be one of the leading sustainable terminal operators, we offer tailor made solutions to support the energy transition. Furthermore, by starting to understand and measure our impact on the key subjects within the environmental, governance & social topics, we engage our employees and stakeholders to develop sustainable plans and achieve goals.
SOCIAL
People are our most valuable asset. For WDS this means, having a sustainable work environment that promotes safety, wellbeing and being connected to the community. The key subjects for WDS regarding Social are; Safety, People, Public Relationship and Community. All subjects have a connection with people and entails different ways to implement sustainability and act sustainable. WDS takes her responsibility to being proactive on these elements to ensure a sustainable relationship with all stakeholders.
GOVERNANCE
Governance can be defined as an establishment of policies and continuous monitoring of sustainability activities. This includes mechanisms required to balance the sustainable prosperity and viability of the organization.
